Where does HCWP collect water quality samples?

Through MPCA's Watershed Pollutant Load Monitoring Network, HCWP collects samples at six sites: three in the Hawk Creek Watershed and three in the Yellow Medicine River Watershed (see map below).  The sites in the Hawk Creek Watershed are Hawk Creek near Maynard, Hawk Creek near Granite Falls, and Beaver Creek.  The sites in the Yellow Medicine River Watershed are Yellow Medicine River near Granite Falls, Yellow Medicine River near Hanley Falls, and Spring Creek.  HCWP also works with Discovery Farms - Minnesota to collect samples and the Minnesota Department of Agriculture to collect pesticide samples.
